Congratulations! You’re in the third trimester of your pregnancy, and soon you will hold your little one in your arms and pamper with lots of love. You must be celebrating the last few months of your pregnancy and can't wait to eat all foods you craved for and restricted to eat; wait for your delivery to eat them all. But, for now, you have to stick to the healthy diet only as in the third trimester, your baby needs more nutrients to grow properly!
Here are some healthy tips for your third trimester of pregnancy. Celebrate your last trimesters with all healthy eating habits.
Here is the list of the foods you can eat during the last trimester of your pregnancy-
Eating fruits and vegetables during pregnancy is beneficial for you and your future baby as it provides various nutrients. Include fibre rich fruits in your diet, and it helps to relieve constipation during pregnancy.
Nuts are full of nutritional value required during pregnancy. So if you feel hungry, have a handful of almonds, walnuts, cashews, etc.
Eat healthily and salad with all vegetables and fruits rich in Vitamin C, E and fibre and add your favourite flavour you crave in it.
During pregnancy, lack of iron in your pregnancy diet for the third trimester may lead you to anaemia and make you feel dizzy. Include foods that are rich in iron like spinach, peas, broccoli, etc.
You can include folic acid vegetables like spinach and lettuce, and citrus fruits in your third-trimester diet. Eating a folic acid-rich diet helps in proper fetus development in the womb and reduces the risk of low weight birth of your baby.
During the third trimester of your pregnancy, having a DHA rich diet helps to improve the unborn baby brain development and the growth of other body organs during this period. You can have fruits and milk products in your diet to make it more healthy.
During this stage of your pregnancy, your body needs at least 70grams of protein in your daily diet. A protein-rich diet helps maintain blood glucose, reduce the risk of gestational diabetes, and improve the baby's health inside the womb.
A magnesium-rich diet during the third-trimester repairs damaged tissues and provides relief from body cramps and preterm childbirth.
Avoid eating salty foods such as chips and fries. Eating salty food may shoot up your blood pressure.
In the third trimester, there are high chances of having gestational diabetes. It is not good for your baby to be healthy inside the womb.
Avoid eating spicy and oily food during this period of your pregnancy, as it creates heartburns and indigestion.
If you’re health conscious and always eat a healthy diet, then it’s good. But if you’re a person with a habit of eating unhealthy food, change your eating habit and eat healthy during pregnancy. A healthy diet during the third trimester improves your baby growth. However, before eating any change in your routine, ask your doctor to have a healthy pregnancy!
